David Martin joined the AGF Board in January, 2015. He is the President/CEO of Gotcha Goat, LLC. Gotcha Goat produces meat products from locally grown goats, and sells goat meat chunks to Kroger. The company is developing a line of value added products, which will include fully cooked entrees, “Jerky”, and “Summer Sausages”. He and his wife Frances are featured in the summer issue of Flavors Magazine, and fall 2012 issue of Focus Magazine, a publication of Fort Valley State University, “Meating a Demand”; and in the August 15th Atlanta Magazine Newsletter, “Getting Goat to a Clamorous Public”. He has appeared several times on “Real Money with Ali Velshi” on the Al Jazeera America Network.
David also serves as President of Home Style Foods, LLC. Home Style Sausage Products are currently distributed throughout the Southeast, with distribution in the Mid-Atlantic, Northeast and Mid-West Regions of the United States. Home Style customers include: Publix, Kroger, Sam’s Club, Ingles, Winn Dixie, Giant Foods, and many others. Home Style is in the process of exporting sausage products to Walmart & Sam’s Club Brazil. David has travelled and presented Home Style Sausage Products in Brazil, Japan, Chile, Canada, Mexico, and several other countries. He was featured in the December 2010, issue of Black Enterprise Magazine, “Tapping the Global Markets”, regarding exporting sausages to Brazil. He was also featured in the January 2011, issue of the Georgia Trend Magazine, “The Art of Sausage Making”. He has also been a guest several times on CNN’s American Morning.
David and Frances Martin have created “The Widget Development & Trading Co, LLC, to assist companies develop their products from conception to distribution. Widget has exported nuts to Bermuda, and is working on exporting other products to Colombia, and Mexico.
David is a graduate of Morehouse College, Atlanta, Georgia, and Rutgers University School of Law, Newark, NJ. Former Vice Chairman of the Georgia Food Policy Council, and has been appointed by the Secretary of the Department of Commerce to the Ga District Export Council. He is married to Frances Lamar Martin; together they have 4 children and 2 grandchildren. They are active members of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Atlanta, Georgia. David is a life member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.
